At my MOPS meeting yesterday our speaker reminded us of the importance of taking time out for yourself regularly because, “if mama ain’t happy no one is happy.” He suggested relaxing by reading novels rather than parenting or other spiritual non-fiction books. It doesn’t take much prodding to get me to read a story so last night I followed his suggestion and picked up a book that has been on our shelf for years. It is Chesterton’s The Innocence of Father Brown. Along with that novel I’m going to start the more heady Planet Narnia in preparation for our church reading club meeting in November.
